EDUCATION AND LEARNING

We offer many learning resources for individuals and families who are new to the Sioux City area and also to the United States. For immigrants and refugees, education is a tool that gives them the knowledge and skills to live an independent and fulfilling life. Classes also create connections as students learn alongside one another, gain confidence, and develop friendships.

  • Citizenship Classes

    Twice-weekly citizenship classes help prepare students for the U.S. citizenship exam. Content covers basic civics concepts, vocabulary needed for the citizenship interview, and more

  • English Language Learning (ELL)

    We offer ELL classes for every level—from beginners who have no experience with the language to advanced students who want to polish their writing and speaking skills.

  • Preschool

    Our fully accredited classroom serves students from all over the world and partners with the Sioux City Community School District as an independent site.

Mary J. Treglia Community House provides legal, educational, and family services to help people who are new to the United States and specifically to Siouxland.
