SERVICES AND PROGRAMS

Mary J. Treglia Community House was founded in 1921 to help Sioux City’s struggling foreign-born become U.S. citizens and build better lives in their new homeland. Today this local nonprofit continues to serve the region’s newcomers in the following areas:

  • Education and Learning (Citizenship Classes, ELL, and Preschool)
We offer English Language Learning courses for every level along with weekly citizenship classes and a fully accredited preschool.
  • Legal Immigration Services
Our team includes an on-staff attorney and two Department of Justice representatives.
  • Family Services
Providing immigrants and refugees with needed support as they navigate life in their new home, we assist with completing paperwork, finding jobs, and more.
  • Translation and Interpretation Services
We strive to break down language barriers—not only for immigrants and refugees, but also within local businesses and organizations. These resources equips newcomers with the tools they need not only to become U.S. citizens, but also to realize their dreams as they contribute to society in meaningful ways.

These resources provide newcomers with the tools they need not only to become U.S. citizens but also to raise their families, explore their passions, grow their confidence, and realize their dreams as they contribute to society in meaningful ways.
