We’re excited to tell you more about the diverse preschool experience we provide to children from throughout the Siouxland community. Classes meet from September until May.
VIEW 2026-2027 CALENDAR
We welcome all students who are 3 to 5 years of age.
Classes are held Monday through Thursday.
HALF DAY: M-Th: 8:15 a.m-12:15 p.m.
FULL DAY: M-Th: 8:15 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Complete the Preschool Enrollment Packet, which can be downloaded here or picked up at Mary J. Treglia Community House, 900 Jennings St. in Sioux City, Iowa, during regular business hours. Preschool Registration Process
- Complete an Application Packet.
- Complete all other needed Preschool Forms.
- If the child is a resident of Iowa and will be 4 years old on or before September 15, 2026, please complete Preschool Initiative Student Registration, Home Language Survey, and Race and Ethnicity Report.
- You must also supply a photo copy of the child’s birth certificate AND current immunization record.
Our Curriculum
The Creative Curriculum® for our preschool is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that promotes exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills. [COMBINE THESE PARAGRAPHS]
Research shows that a whole-child approach to education is one where children develop math, literacy, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills necessary to think critically and creatively. Solving complex problems is developmentally appropriate and better prepares children for a life well beyond their time in our classroom.
Income-based fees:
Scholarships may be available through the Iowa Department of Human Services and Mary J. Treglia Community House, thanks to the generous grant funding from Women United of Siouxland. Many of our students are eligible for these scholarships, which can offer up to full tuition. To learn more, contact Tiffany Woodside, Director of Education & Learning.

Licenses/Accreditations:
Our preschool is connected with licensed preschools in the Sioux City Community School District and others within Siouxland. We are licensed by the Iowa Department of Human Services, with we have received high marks for the education we provide: Iowa Quality 4 Kids Level 3.
MEET OUR STAFF
MARY J. TREGLIA COMMUNITY HOUSE PRESCHOOL IS DHS LICENSED. All of our Preschool Staff are certified in CPR and first aid training, universal precautions, mandatory reporting, and essential preservice series training. They also receive record checks in criminal, child abuse, and sex offender registries.
